Today I returned to St. Mary’s University to speak to seniors in the Greehey School of Business. The visit, as it was last year, is a chance for two-way communication between a decidedly seasoned businessman and the best and brightest new marketing consultants soon to be released into the real world.
Primary topic was my venture into social media and how it works, or does not work, for my business as a wildlife consultant and ranch broker. This year I was able to provide long term statistics from Facebook and ad placement, giving the class a brief history lesson in advertising in the process.
The response was great, with young minds feverishly trying to improve my program as if they were paid consultants. Several ideas stood out and will be implemented. I am always impressed with their insight and professional manner combined with an enthusiasm reserved for the young.
